Description
One of three tapestry fragments from the story of Troy, showing Diomedes and Ulysses at King Priam’s court. In the centre background is King Priam, seated on his throne, wearing an elaborate headdress. Diomedes and Ulysses have arrived at court to petition the return of their queen, Helen. The banners of text above (in French) and below (in Latin) narrate the story. Part of the Burrell Collection.
