Description
Tapestry depicting Moses and the Burning Bush, one of set of six Sibyls (46.134 to 45.139) from the series 'Fountains with Sibyls and Prophets'. It shows God’s address to Moses above the burning bush, traditionally interpreted by the Church Fathers as an Old Testament portent of the Annunciation, with the bush, burning but unconsumed, an augury of the Virgin Birth. Part of the Burrell Collection.
