Description
Tapestry depicting 'Sibylla Cimeria and Sibylla Agrippa, one of set of six Sibyls (46.134 to 45.139) from the series 'Fountains with Sibyls and Prophets'. it shows Sibylla Cimeria, holding the type of cornucopia-like drinking vessel used as a baby’s bottle, alluding to her prediction of the Virgin and Child, with the Sibylla Agrippa, who supposedly foretold the flagellation of Christ, and therefore holds a whip. Part of the Burrell Collection.
