Description
Wool tapestry fragment depicting five women in an interior. The women are gathered in a room hung with deep blue voided velvet panels. One holds an unfurled scroll, perhaps a sheet of music; another reads from a book; a third gesticulates. A curtained niche abutting the window behind the women contains a grisaille figurine of the pilgrim Saint James of Compostela. Part of the Burrell Collection.
