Description
Wool and silk tapestry depicting the triumph of the Virgin. The Virgin and Child are surrounded by angels, while a host of figures, including kings, a bishop and a cardinal kneel in adoration. One worshipper bears a patriarchal cross, another holds a banderol inscribed 'O devout one', another has a plaque reading 'Oh sweet Mary'. On either side of the tapestry are biblical scenes - an Adoration of the Magi; a representation of King Solomon honouring his mother, Bathsheba; and the Queen of Sheba presenting King Solomon with gifts.
