Description
Wool tapestry depicting scenes from the life of Saint Peter. Here Peter is shown leaving Rome, when he was met by an apparition of the resurrected Christ. Realizing that Christ was offering to take punishment on his behalf, the saint turned around to face the heavily armed soldiers. This tapestry is part of a set of seven hangings depicting scenes from the life of Saint Peter. Part of the Burrell Collection.
