Description
Silk tapestry depicting a landscape with the arms of the Miro, or Miron, family. The Miro shield can be seen in the centre, hanging from a pomegranate tree, with 2 angels above holding up an armillary sphere. Small animals, a stag, a doe, rabbits and pheasants can be seen in the field, while birds of different species fly around the trees. The exhortations 'Crede!' (Believe!) and 'Ama!' (Love!) flutter alongside them. The panel is surrounded by a frame-like border with the coats of arms of the owner in the four corners, and his motto repeated four times on the scrolls. Part of the Burrell Collection.
