The Essence of Beauty: 500 Years of Italian Art Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, 6 April –12 August 2012, touring to Compton Verney, England (23 March–23 June 2013) and across the US (August 2013–May 2015) Glasgow has one of the best Italian art collections in Northern Europe. This collection of 150 paintings is remarkable for the quality and interest of individual works, and for its chronological range, which stretches from the 14th to the late 19th century.
